Our Utah Juniper Essential Oil is steam distilled from the aromatic needles, twigs, and berries of the Juniperus osteosperma tree, gathered by hand here in the desert of southeastern Utah.
Juniper is a coniferous evergreen shrub in the cypress family, and is commonly found throughout the western United States. The Utah Juniper sub-species grows on dry plains and plateaus around the state at elevations between 4,000-7,000 feet, and can live to be 650 years old.
This aroma of this essential oil is intriguing because it changes as it ages; the fragrance has pungent sweet, fresh, spicy top notes, a coniferous, camphor-like middle range, and a deep, woody, balsamic base.

Directions: To use in a diffuser, start with 3-4 drops, and add more as needed. For topical use, mix up to 2-3% essential oil with a carrier oil of your choice (12-18 drops of essential oil to 1 ounce carrier oil). To use as a cleanser, add 10-20 drops of essential oil to a spray bottle full of water, spray affected area(s), and wipe down with a clean cloth.
Cautions: Keep out of reach of young children. Avoid using if pregnant or nursing. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and lips. If irritation does occur, discontinue use and wash off with soap and water.
