Our Sagebrush Blend Essential Oil is steam distilled from the aromatic leaves and branches of the Great Western Sage (Artemisia tridentata) and Sand Sage (Artemisia filifolia), gathered by hand here in the desert of southeastern Utah.
Great Western Sage inhabits many arid and semi arid climates throughout Western North America from British Columbia to Mexico, while Sand Sage is native to parts of Texas, the Great Plains, and the Four Corners region of the US where it grows predominately in sandy soils between 3,000-5,000 feet. Along with a long, rich history in Native American culture and folklore, both types of sage have been used by various tribes in the past, primarily for medicinal and spiritual purposes.
The aroma of this essential oil is distinctly familiar to anyone who has visited the West; the fragrance combines the pungent smell of Great Western Sage with the milder flavor of Sand Sage to create a scent that has clean, fresh, herbaceous top notes an earthy, warm middle range, and a deep, woody base that is slightly bitter and camphorous.

Directions: To use in a diffuser, start with 3-4 drops, and add more as needed. For topical use, mix up to 2-3% essential oil with a carrier oil of your choice (12-18 drops of essential oil to 1 ounce carrier oil). To use as an air freshener, add 10-20 drops of essential oil to a small spray bottle full of water, spray affected area(s).
Cautions: Keep out of reach of young children. Avoid using if pregnant or nursing. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and lips. If irritation does occur, discontinue use and wash off with soap and water.
